How we check the facts

Updated

Every fact on a casino’s review page carries three things: how it was established, when, and where we read it. This page explains the words we use.

Where a fact comes from

  • The operator’s terms. The terms and conditions, the payments policy and the identity-check policy published on the casino’s own site. Marked “Read in the terms”.
  • The operator’s site. What the casino shows on its pages or states in the text its site loads, for example its payment methods or its welcome offer. Marked “Seen on the site”.
  • The partner programme. What the casino’s affiliate programme states to us, for example the countries it accepts players from. Marked “Editorial review”, with the document named as the source.
  • Independent reviews. What independent review sites say about a casino, for example its payment methods. Marked “Editorial review”, with the review named as the source. A review’s list is general: it is not the cashier shown to players in Ireland, and a method missing from it is shown as a dash, not as “No”.

Each fact links to its source and shows the date we read it.

When there is no value

  • Not yet verified means nobody on our team has read this yet. It is our gap.
  • Not published means we read the operator’s documents and they state nothing. It is the operator’s silence, and we record it with its source and date like any other fact.

These are two different statements and we never merge them.

Announced, not measured

When an operator states how long a withdrawal or an identity check takes, we quote its words on the casino’s review page and mark them “Announced by the operator, not measured by us”. We have not timed any payment.

What we have not tested

We have opened no account, made no deposit and requested no withdrawal. If we ever do, the page will say which test was performed and when.

How the lists are made

A list such as “Revolut casinos” holds the casinos whose recorded payment methods include that method. “Fast withdrawal casinos” are selected by withdrawal method, not by a time. When a method is missing from a list we read, we write “No” only if that list is the operator’s complete list; otherwise we show a dash, because a list that does not mention a method is not the operator refusing it.

The order of the top

The order is our editorial decision. We earn a commission from every casino in the top and list only casinos we have a partner agreement with. When we order them we weigh the recorded facts and may take commercial terms into account. The facts on each page do not depend on the casino’s place.

When something changes

Every change to the facts in a casino’s record is listed in the change log, and how we correct errors is described in the corrections policy.
